Glitterditch Approves

Musical Message From Command

Fuck that jingle-jangle pop bobbins people. If you fancy tuning into mesmeric, multi-layered depth, capped off with a quaintly quirky twist, then Dark Captain Light Captain orders your ears to stand to attention.

Glitterditch has been lucky enough to enjoy a sneak preview of future track Jealous Enemies, but while that one's still in the pipeline, we thought we'd indulge in some shameless opportunism (we're mates with the guitarist, innit?) and tell you all about the upcoming EP Circles.

Fresh off the back of bringing the house down at the Indigo O2 gig last month, Dan, Neil, Giles, Chin of Britain, Laura and Mike weave their folk-influenced, dense and dark aural magic to excellent effect on Circles.

The title track showcases delicate drops of acoustic guitar against a background of rhythmic base and drum, giving it an Eastern influenced flavour. Sweeping vocals add an impeccable gloss, reminiscent of Midlake.

They Be Underwater takes on a more folky feel, with tracks Robot Command Centre and Walls highlighting some original use of percussion. Nothing beats a daintily tinged triangle, I tell thee.

So, unless you'd rather barbecue your feet than listen to experimental sounds such as these, get off your bum and buy this musical gem.

And that is what you call being issued with your marching orders.

EP Circles is released June 16th on Loaf Recordings.
