A Sense of London
Strike's off, and we're sad
Surely we are not alone in being disappointed by the news that the planned tube strike - which was meant to commence on Sunday - has been cancelled?
It seems that the union and TFL have hugged it out, and now service wil be running as usual.
We love tube strikes. Love them. I mean, since we work at home in our pajamas, we don't actually have to use it to commute, but we still were hotly anticipating the transport shutdown as a jolly excuse for some easy skiving down the pub with our local desk jockey friends who would be compelled to 'work from home'. And back in the day when we did have an office job, we made lots of a new friends whilst undergoing the two-hour hike between our then-office and then-flat. It was so charming. To the folks in the union, we say: don't sell yourself short! Give London a couple of days off! And, you know, better working conditions for you and stuff.
