Have we got news for you?
London definitely not burning
We're putting our feet up today, as problems with the plumbing in Central London mean that Glitter, along with hundreds of other poor employees, are being forced to work from home. We are literally seething with rage, as we sit here in our knickers sipping an afternoon's JD and coke. A Thames Water spokesman hopes that "there will not be too many local businesses affected," but that's looking unlikely, as reports come out that it will take three days for the city to get back to normal.
This, as everyone seems desperate to point out, could cause problems for the London Mayor, whoever he (or she - we're pretty sure that there's a female candidate smiling prettily and trying to be noticed somewhere in the line up) may be. City Hall has been affected by the water problems, and we hate to think of poor Boris being told he's got the job, only to find out that he has to wade through gushing rivers of raw sewage if he wants to get to his office. Actually, hang on - we like to think that. We like it very much.
But anyway, back to those of you who have been punished with a day off work. Poor folks who, like us, are forced to endure the limitless tea and snacking that is the sad lot of the freelancer. We imagine you all sitting at home wondering what is going on at the office or, if you're particularly stressed by the news, having a little afternoon nap. Here are a few cool pictures of yesterday's flood to reacquaint you with the disaster and, hopefully, help you block out the pain.
Many thanks to cybertect of Flickr for the extremely swift photo upload. All hail the immediacy of the internet.

Well said, 'punished'. What's wrong with London nowadays, are we not allowed to jump with glee when there's no work for the day? Or are we afraid that if we really jump with glee, this will be reflected badly in your annual job review, ie, affecting bonus/promotion? Aw come on...give us all a break...We are only punished when we have no water and water is wasted.
