Only on TV
A televisual treat
Now into series two, the criminally under rated London based show is hillarious as ever. School teacher Karen's reliance on alcohol and recreational drugs has been further fanned by the appearance of an ex (expertly played by Paul Kaye), Louise is still hopelessly loveable despite falling for a flasher and Donna has been moonlighting as a counsellor, despite being as far removed from diplomatic as you can possibly get outside being a dictator.
But perhaps why we at Glitterditch love this jewel in BBC Three's comedy crown so much is the painfully sharp as tack writing.
This week, after storming into her boss's office, Donna finds herself in a situation common to all: you've read the body language but you clearly aren't listening fully to what is being said. When her boss tearily proclaims " My mum's dead. She just keeled over and her heart stopped. She'd been lying there for eight hours." Donna idly answers back: "Oh my God...is she alright?".
Pulling is heartbreakingly realistic and absurdly funny, but most of all, probably the most entertaining comedy programme to emmerge from these shores since Peep Show.
