Too Cheap To Buy A Picasso?
The Affordable Art Fair starts today and we can't wait. If you spend your days thinking that your living room could do with a new painting (sometimes it's all we can think about) then make sure you get down to Battersea Park and pick up a bargain. But just how cheap is it?
Well everything is under £3000. Which might sound like rather a lot of money, But we're meant to see art as an investment. Besides, that's the same price as that holiday in the Caribbean you've just slapped on your credit card. And you'll spend that much on shoes this year. Don't worry, prices start at just £50 so you can buy a picture for every room in your flat if you like.
It's not just paintings, you can buy sculpture, photographs and prints as well. We bet you find something you like in that lot. Sure, you're not going to find a Picasso, but you might discover a new up and coming artist who will make you very rich in the future.
Which might just mean you can retire to the Caribbean.
The Affordable Art Fair is at Battersea Park until Sunday 16th March. There's a free Shuttle Bus from Sloane Square (because people who shop on Sloane Street don't get public transport, obviously). You can also get the train from Waterloo.
