Dinner Plans

Some Alioli With Your Aria?

We've heard of some restaurant gimmicks in our time. Vegan food on a bus was our favourite until we heard about Little Bay. We're curious about any restaurant where we can have dinner and watch opera at the same time. Yes. Opera.

We're confused by this, make no mistake. But apparently in the Battersea branch of Little Bay, we can sit there nibbling on out starter while a blonde woman wonders around the room belting out out Puccini. As you do.

We get the feeling that this isn't the kind of restaurant that you have chats in. But ever since The Pigalle got cool again (how did that happen?) the whole notion of supper clubs has taken off again.

Yes, supper clubs we're fine with. We can talk while someone is tinkling on a piano. But we're not sure if you can chat about your plans for the weekend while there's a bit of soprano warbling going on at the table next to you.

But the menu does sound good. It's simple hearty stuff that costs less before 7. Everything sounds like it's good. The performance. The food. The prices.

We're just not sure if it all works when you throw it all together. We don't even think we like opera. It's noisy and we can't understand what they're saying. Do we really want to listen to it while we eat steak? We'll go and investigate soon and let you know. But if you've already been, let us know what to expect.

Little Bay has branches all over London, Battersea is the only one that has Opera six nights a week. They accept all credit cards except AMEX.
