RIP: The After School Club

It's time to shed a tear. The comedy brilliance that is the After School Club is to be no more. If you haven't had chance to get yourself down to Liberties in Camden to see what it's all about, then make sure you do tonight. It'll be your last chance. You don't want to miss out do you?

Of course you don't. We've told you once about the free cake. We'll go anywhere we can eat fondant fancies for free, but with the After School club you get some laughs too. But don't heckle. You're not allowed to heckle. That's just mean and rude. You don't annoy the comedians and they don't harass the audience. Which means, shock! The actually tell jokes! Tonight you can here jokes from Trevor Lock. Marvellous.

There's a community feel to The After School Club. There's games in the interval. (Last time Glitterbitch got shouted at for trying to steal a pot plant from the bar.) This is the kind of fun you want on a Monday night. Games, drinking, giggling and well, free cake. Nothing too strenuous.

Which is why we're so sad that to see it go. The club makes us happy. Much more than we'd be if we went to Jongleurs. We'll be there tonight eating more cake than we've ever eaten before in protest that the club will be no more.

After School Club is in Liberties on Camden High Street. The fun starts from around 8. Did we mention that there's free cake?
