Breaking the rules.
Planning the Fool
Political Activism scares Glitterditch a little. Lo-fi Naomi Klein style movements are one thing, but we draw the line quite a bit before full-on anarchic bottle throwing. Protest gets our vote when it's clued up and thinks outside the box. We prefer a dig in the ribs to a poke in the eye.
That's why Fossil Fools Day has caught our attention. We've been casting about for large-scale April Fool's pranks to point you guys towards. So far, the best we've encountered has been the circus-themed protest stylings of climate action group Stop Kingsnorth. And we are well aware just how "hilarious" anti-corporate actions can be, but we really do like the sound of jugglers, acrobats and clowns. It's offbeat fun with a conscience. Join in and you'll start off your April with a bang. Plus, hey you might just stop the opening of EON's new coal-fired power station. Which we're assured is a VERY BAD THING.
And if you're planning some glittery April Fool's pranks, we'd like to hear about it.
