New Club Night Alert: Death By Stereo
If there's a new club night in London, we know you're going to want to hear about it. Even if you're one of those people who have an issue with crossing over to the south of the river.
DJ Duo Rock 'n' Ruin are making a bit of a name for themselves around the city, putting on club nights that we want to go to because they're fun instead of pretentious. After all, that's what we want on a night out.

Hello, I'm Emma, and this is Gemma...pleased to meet you!
What have you been up to?
We've been really busy since Christmas promoting our two new club nights in New Cross, 'Death By Stereo' and 'RetroJunk'.
Tell us about Death By Stereo.
We wanted to provide an alternative night for everyone that plays real alternative music. There are so many nights that still play chart music or really boring indie boy bands. We wanted to give other music a chance, from Riot Grrl to Punk, new & old, signed & unsigned.
What can people expect?
Expect to hear a real range of alternative tunes, an exciting new band each month, plus giveaways & cheap beer, all for FREE!!!

It takes place every first Thursday of the month at The New Cross Inn. From 8pm-2am.

New Cross has quite a high student presence and we are gay friendly too! We welcome everyone!
What other club nights do you like in London?
We also run another night in New Cross called 'RetroJunk' (at The Deptford Arms 22nd March) which is just that.Retro music and junk to giveaway. Each month we have a different retro style giveaway either a Tombola, a Quiz or a fun competition, but everyone will get retro-junk for free, plus live performances and music from 50s-90s. nothing from the last 5 years. Look out for our forthcoming 'Countdown' with Alphabet Spagetti, minus Carol Vorderman!
What else do you love about London?
The variety is the best thing, no matter what music you are into, whatever day of the week there is always something to do.
What do you hate about it?
Litter and rude people, oh and those people who insist on standing still on the wrong side of the escalator. Annoying!
What's your favourite bar/ venue in London?
When we manage to get out of New Cross we usually drink at the Retro Bar in Charing Cross, or have a mooch round Camden. Also nearby Greenwich is great in the summer months.
When was the last time you got drunk and fell over?
Not for a little while actually! Though it was my birthday last week and I got pretty wasted then...the hangover really was hellish!
If you had two free hours in London where would you go? What would you do?
I would probably head to Camden for a look around the shops and have lunch somewhere, or maybe a picnic in Greenwich, weather permitting!
