It's like stripping for the cultured

OK, fine. We'll write an entry about burlesque, seeing as it is the new bandwagon upon which the uninitiated are determined to leap. It also gives us a great opportunity to link to some hot pictures. Burlesque is like cabaret. Sexy, sexy, beautiful sexy cabaret, which gives people cause to tremble ever so slightly and put their hands under the table.

There are a million billion burlesque events happening in London at the moment, and we recommend you go and see some. The Volupte Lounge has a show on tonight, but at £45 quid a pop it had better include a seriously good dinner. It does include a performance from Miss Polly Rae, who is undoubtedly one of the best burlesque stars that we have had the privilege of not being able to remember because they all look like Dita to us.

Of course, the money-shot of all of this starts next Wednesday, with the London Burlesque festival at Madame Jojos. Tickets are 22.50, unless you're a Very Important Pervert with 85 quid and the desire for a special ticket.
