Do Something Different? OK Then.

Yesterday we told you about martian art at the Barbican Centre which starts today. It was all kicking off as part of their 'Do Something Different' weekend. Despite the fact that the slogan sounds like a Jamie Oliver cooking show, we thought we'd have a look at what other different stuff we could do there.

The Good:

Lampooned: This is brilliant. Pretty lamps from Graham and Green can cost lots. Now in the fabulously names making factory we can make our own. Brilliant. We'll be like Linda Barker but much less annoying. It's only a fiver.

Close Encounters: Play with aliens? Make our own arty stuff? Yes please.

The Bad:

Barbican For Adults: No! This is not fun! This is not exciting! This is learning without trying to hide it. There are too many fun things happening this weekend and we're not sure we want to pay attention to an architecture tour. And you have to pay three quid.

Three Colours Blue: We know it's a critically acclaimed film, but it's a little too heavy for us this weekend. We want to go and play.

The Just Plain Weird:

Tetris: At 12:00 on Saturday and Sunday, you can make furniture out of cardboard Tetris shapes. It'll end up as benches for the centre. But now we have that annoying computer game music stuck in our heads.

Osadia: It sounds like just getting your hair done. But Osadia have turned hairdressing into a crazy performance. Volunteer, get a new do and be stared at all day. Hmmm....

Or, you can ignore us and take a look at what else is going on here.

The Barbican Centre is on Silk Street. the nearest tube is, er... Barbican.
