The Glittery A-Z: Bloomsbury Bowling

The best bits of London are often the ones that have been getting it right for years. The ones that you go back to because you know you're going to have a great time. They feel new and exciting every time you go.

So we've come up with the Glittery A-Z. Somewhat traditionally for Glitterditch, we'll start at the beginning and work our way through the whole alphabet until we've shouted about all our favourite haunts. Then, if you're nice, we'll even put them on a map for you so you can visit them all in one cocktail filled weekend.

We can't believe in the whole of Glitterditch history, we haven't told you about Bloomsbury Bowling. Especially when there is so much going on here. Bloomsbury Bowling is perfect for a big night out.

We've spotted Sienna Miller looking fab here (though not doing much bowling it has to be said) and the all American bar is a firm favourite with celebs. Now, Glitterbitch can't bowl at all. It's shocking how bad she is, despite playing at Megabowl quite a lot when she was young. But we still think that we'll improve after a few cocktails. This isn't true, but the cocktail menu is great so you'll get too tipsy to care.

Depending on what day you go and embarass yourself, you'll either get a few live bands or you'll get the wonderfully named Shake, Rattle and Bowl. A club night from the much sought after Dollyrocker from Buttoned Down Disco. Everyone gets dressed up in polka dot dresses and leather jackets. How very cool. We might even buy a Pink Ladies jacket next time we go - it'll be perfect for the Karaoke. (Glitterbitch also shouldn't do this.)

It's fun. It's silly. And it's not just propping up a bar all night. You might even work of some calories from all those cocktails. Unfortunately, you still have to wear those stupid shoes.

Bloomsbury Bowling is in the basement of the Tavistock Hotel on Bedford Way. We like it there so much we're willing to wear the silly shoes, but don't forget to change them back afterwards.
