Glittery A-Z
The Dorchester
London's best bits are often the ones that have been getting it right for years. The places that feel new and exciting every time you go. So to celebrate these we bring you the Glittery A-Z. Today we bring you 'D'.
We all need a bit of mid-week glamour. Because there's nothing better than getting all dressed up for the sake of it and spoiling yourself. If you're going to do this, the best place to do it is, of course, The Dorchester.
Maybe it's just the area, but there is something so decadent about it here. Let's face it, it's got much prettier surroundings than The Savoy. There's something about it that feels special.
Last time we came here, we ate at The Grill. Now it may not be Kate Moss' favourite, but it's much more intimate that China Tang. Oh, and it serves the best food we've ever eaten. Really. It's the only restaurant we know that could seriously dish up macaroni and make us ecstatic. That's some pretty impressive pasta.
But we all know that you don't just want good food in a place like The Dorchester. It's only part of it. We want to get a sneaky peek at Sharon Osbourne (she practically lives here after all). We want to be surrounded by all the glitz and glamour that this place oozes. We want to be there, in the middle of it with a flute of champagne.
That's why we come to The Dorchester. It's why we'll keep coming back. Yes, the food is amazing. But really we just want to make our Jimmy Choos go click on the foyer in long swishy dresses.
The Dorchester is on Park Lane near Hyde Park Corner. Get a black cab from Green Park so you don't get pinchy feet in your pretty shoes.
