The Chilled Out Weekend Guide

Because sometimes you want to have fun but you're just too tired to party, Glitterditch brings you your perfect weekend guide. Here's the best of the chilled stuff. We're not all about sex, drink and parties y'know.

Friday:

  • Jazz After Dark: We'll make it easy for you. Pop into this fab little bar, save loads of money by not going to Ronnie Scott's, sit listen and enjoy with a very large drink.
  • Monkey's uncle exotique cabaret: This is a show where someone else has to do all the work. You just have to sit in the tiny Black Gardenia and sip wine while you watch strippers, music and films all in one evening.
Saturday:

  • Glassblowing workshop: It ain't cheap, but what could be more relaxing than glass blowing? (OK, we've never tried it but it sounds like it would chill us out and the colours are pretty.) If you've messed up and forgotten your other half on V day then this might just make up for it.

  • Marking Erasing: If you find yourself south of the river, pop into Viewfinder. The cool little photography gallery in Greenwich is showing works from Claire Davidson and Julia Mariscal. It's all about the link between drawing and photography. We've had a sneak preview and it's pretty darn good.

Sunday:

  • Barbican Silent Movie Series: The easiest way to chill out. Go and see a silent film with a bit of live music. East and West is on today. Try not to fall asleep.

  • Canary Wharf Ice Rink: It's your last chance. Today is the last day of the final open ice rink. If you don't go now, you'll have to wait until Christmas before you can fall over and get icy bruises. What are you waiting for?
