Take a Stroll Down Charlotte Street

There are some streets in London that are fab. Be it Camden High Street or Old Bond Street. Some of them are just fantastic in their entirety. It'd about time they were celebrated. Kicking off with Charlotte Street.

We're loathed to utter the word NoHo on Glitterditch. It makes us feel a little bit sick. Fiztrovia is much better for Charlotte Street. Tucked away just off the hideousness that is Oxford Street, you can easily forget that you're anywhere near the centre of the tourist trap.

Surely that's not the only thing going for it?

We have to kick off with Bourne and Hollingsworth, which we've told you about before. It's new and original and is perfectly quaint. It's directly opposite Charlotte Street and sums up the area all in one bar. Their next radio hour is on Monday March 3rd.

The Fitzroy Tavern is a little bit further down and we're a huge fan of this creative pub. It's cool but without being wanky. A bit like if you mixed a creative members club with the Hawley Arms. It's a strange mix, but it works.

It's typical of Charlotte Street to have its own boutique hotel. And of course, it's just as pretty and well turned out as the rest of the street. Though we don't expect to ever stay at The Charlotte Street Hotel, we do like looking through the window.

If you fancy looking at some arty things, the Rebecca Hossack Gallery can help you out with that. Perfect as you stroll up the street to get lunch at Andrea's.

Just off Charlotte street is the fabulous Bang Bang, we know it's not quite on the same street, but it's gorgeous in there and we picked up a Nina Ricci dress for under £150 last week. For that reason, it's worth shouting about whenever we can.

The one to walk past:

The Northumberland Arms is just an average pub. Nothing to shout about. And our friend had their bag stolen in here. Nothing special at all which is a shame, as the rest of Charlotte Street really is.

You can get to Charlotte Street by jumping off the tube at either Tottenham Court Road or Goodge Street. Go, go there now!

Charlotte Street Hotel is a favourite of The Hoff. And check out the unrivaled Navarros tapas restaurant.
