Glittery A-Z
Joy
London's best bits are often the ones that have been getting it right for years. The places that feel new and exciting every time you go. So to celebrate these we bring you the Glittery A-Z. Today we bring you 'J'.
We've mentioned Joy briefly before. But we don't think that really does it justice. And this post just might help our bank manager understand why we have spending issues. We'll send it to him later on. We just can't help but spend money in this shop. It's too easy. Quite simply, it brings us joy.
The Greenwich branch is usually responsible for Glitterbitch's spending habit. But don't feel bad for us. We come out with floaty dresses and stuff that makes us feel a bit girly, but with our leather jacket, make us look like a spindly Storm model. Well, sort of. We are a healthy size 10 thank you very much.
The whole shop sums up Greenwich. It's in an old swimming baths which mean it's very pretty and what was once an old shower room is now a really rather pretty changing room. Which makes us spend more time in here. And more money. You see our problem.
Everything is beautiful in here. Granted there is the typical cool stuff that looks ludicrous on us. We just can't do that whole hip-hop thing. Nor do we want to. But we like that there's so much stuff to choose from in here. It's all touchy-feely soft. Most of our favourite things come from here. Whenever we wear our favourite things, someone compliments us and tells us how pretty they (we) are. Not bad for a poky little shop in South East London.
They have other branches too. One in Brixton, one in Clapham and an online store too. We're not a fan of the online shop, but they have so much different stock each day that it would be a nightmare to keep it up to date.
Is there anything we don't like? Well, yes actually. We're not a fan of the shoes. They're really horrid. Greenwich doesn't have a decent shoe shop so we're not shocked, just a tad annoyed. We also think if they got rid of all those novelty books they'd have room for more pretty stuff.
But that doesn't matter. You'll go in, find something really special and buy in then and there. You'll keep if forever and be very pleased you popped in to this strange little shop.
