How Would You Spend Your Last Tenner?

tenner.jpg

Imagine you've only get a tenner in your pocket. That's all. It's sat snugly next to your travelcard, but it's all the money you have in the world. But you aren't going to spend it on sensible things like the phone bill, or your weekly shopping. Nope. You're going to go out and enjoy yourself.

Glitterbitch asks the all important question to a bunch of Londoners: Where would you spend your last £10?

"I'd spend the afternoon in all the free museums. I'd start at the National Portrait Gallery and then walk along river to the Tate Modern. Then I'd go somewhere really lovely for a late lunch by the river. Hopefully I'd have enough money left over for a glass of wine."

"I’d use it to call my mum as I would be destitute and homeless and would need to find someone who’d take me in. That’s not what you meant is it?" (Er, not really. But it's really quite excellent advice - Ed.)

"Strip joint!"

"I'd go to the National Gallery and get a head set for a donation fee (give a few quid) then wonder around for as long as me feet can carry me, learning loads about everything in the gallery. After this you could probably have enough money for a thimble of tea from their canteen."

"I'd spend the day in the park. I'd buy a kite, or a cricket set if I was with lots of people. Or enough stuff for a picnic. Greenwich park would be perfect."

"£10 = 5 pints plus a bag of nuts in The Angel."

"I wouldn't just want to see or do one thing. I'd want to soak things up a bit more and a walk is the best way of doing that. I'd go to a park, Tower Bridge and maybe have a look at all the buildings around Fleet Street. I'd give the money to someone else."

See, according you guys, all you need is some pretty pictures, a few beers and a nice stroll in the park. Think you'd do something different? Then tell us in the comments.

See, the best things in London really are all free - parks, museums, galleries, just wandering.

But here's how to get the most out of a tenner.

Guided walk around the City: £5
Climb the Monument: £3 (when it reopens
Take the elevator to the top of Westminster Cathedral: £2

Three fun things for £10.

Ooh, what about a movie marathon at the Prince Charles?

And yes about the strip joint... ten dances for a tenner at The White Horse! Score!

I'd spend my last tenner on finding a cheap internet cafe (difficult) and while away the hours (or maybe minutes?!) on ScribbleSheet and Glitterditch!
