Glittery A-Z

G-A-Y Bar

London's best bits are often the ones that have been getting it right for years. The places that feel new and exciting every time you go. So to celebrate these we bring you the Glittery A-Z. Today we bring you 'G'.

Glitterbitch adores G-A-Y bar. It's fun. It's silly. We meet fun silly people in here and we dance for hours and hours. Or, at least until our feet hurt and we need a drink. What is it we love about this place?

No one cares in G-A-Y. It's not a place to worry. You won't find drunk crying girls in the corner. You won't find people in suits who have just come in from work. You will find people who want to dance and have fun and forget about the working week. The also come to watch Girls Aloud. Steps. S Club 7. And all manner of shocking people who normally we couldn't care less about.

But when they're here, we do. We don't know why, but we suddenly like all these rubbish pop people when they're here. Our 90s favourite Sarah Cracknell of St. Etienne fame is popping in on Saturday (she sang 'He's on the Phone'. Remember now?) We really want to go and see her. Feel a bit nostalgic over a beer and talk about Global Hypercolour t-shirts.

We might even get excited about Boyzone being there on March 1st. Not to see them and jump about and cheer, but just to see them make complete fools of themselves. Priceless.

G-A-Y Bar is on Old Compton Street. Go and drink cheap drinks and dance like a mad fool.
