Glittery A-Z
Fifteen
London's best bits are often the ones that have been getting it right for years. The places that feel new and exciting every time you go. So to celebrate these we bring you the Glittery A-Z. Today we bring you 'F'.
Everyone laughed at Jamie Oliver when he came up with the idea behind Fifteen. But those people are eating more than their words as it turned out that he was onto a pretty good money maker. Now the 'under privileged kids' gimic behind the restaurant has worn off, but people still go back again and again.
It's simple here. The whole idea of it is simple. It can get a little bit 'business lunch' if you go at the wrong time, but there's no faulting the food or the service. it's good simple Italian grub that we'd happily eat all day.
We could if we wanted. We like that they have a breakfast menu. Not many places do this and we like it. Breakfast somewhere other than our local greasy spoon is always a good thing. With a glass of champagne it's even better.
We also like that you get a choice of how you want to eat. You can eat in the Trattoria which is nice, but not as swanky as the dining room downstairs. Both are great, but you can choose where to go depending on why you're going there. You won't feel out of place in a restaurant that's a bit too posh. You also won't end up being whacked with a huge and unexpected bill on Valentine's day if you're lucky enough to have bagged a table.
If you haven't, we still think you should go. Fifteen is a great little place and we prefer this to any other of those celebrity chef's restaurants. Notting Grill just really isn't as cool.
