Ed's Easy Diner

London's best bits are often the ones that have been getting it right for years. The places that feel new and exciting every time you go. So to celebrate these we bring you the Glittery A-Z. Today we bring you 'E'.

You might find this hard to believe, but sometimes we don't want to go out and drink. Really. Sometimes there's nothing better than just going out for dinner with friends after work. Just having a giggle. This is when we go to Ed's Easy Diner in Soho.

Let us make clear now that Ed's is better than Hamburger Union. It's better than the Gourmet Burger Kitchen. And it's better than Hache. Glitterditch loves Ed's Easy Diner. Mainly because of the milkshakes. We get so excited about their butterscotch milkshakes that we'll be in there again before the day is over if we think about them too much.

We also like that their burgers are simple. We don't want a 'no bread burger' option. Or millions of stupid things to go on our burger. We just want burgers. With fries and milkshakes. Butterscotch milkshakes. Ed's do simple food that tastes good. All fresh ingredients and fast service. Which really, is exactly what you want, isn't it?

They do take out as well, if you don't have time to wait (it's always busy in here). But then you wouldn't get to play with the little jukebox on your table. They're our favourite part. Make sure you bring extra 20p pieces just for this.

We adore the 50s style diner too. It makes us feel like singing 'Beauty School Drop Out' and dancing around in a silly skirt. Ed's just gets everything right without being annoying and cheesy like TGI Fridays.

You come to Ed's for good food. Which you get quickly. You leave happy. What more do you need?

Oh right, maybe another butterscotch milkshake. Yes. Good idea.

Ed's Easy Diner is on Old Compton Street. There is another Branch in the Trocadero too which is a bit bigger but not as fun.
