An Email From Jealous of the Daylight.

Earlier, we told you about Jealous of the Daylight. Great as their nights are, we were very confused by their name. We got this email from Mr. Jealous (or, erm, Pete) to explain how the name came about:

"It came to me from nowhere and I thought it sounded cool and wanted to use it for something but didn't really know what it meant...

We then decided that it would be quite a good name for a magazine for creative/arty types, all cooped up in offices across London while the daylight taunts them/us through the dusty chinks in the blinds (it was spring at the time)... So your line about clock-watching is pretty apt.

The mag doesn't actually exist yet but that was the idea.

The name became strangely appropriate to our events though, as most of our early gigs were afternoon events in the middle of summer. The Gardening Club is dark and underground so the name started to make sense literally..."

Clock-watching, underground clubs. Yep. It all makes sense now.

Cheers for clearing that up, Pete!
