A Tourist in London
Now, we all know how much you love London. Almost as much as Glitterditch we imagine. And so do the tourists. Yesterday, we met a tourist who had only been in London for 24 hours. Kelly has come all the way from New Zealand to hang out in our favourite city, and we wanted to find out what she thought of it.
"I went for a really long walk yesterday. I've walked all around Tower Bridge, Southwark and up to Waterloo. Then over to Westminster and Oxford Street." Blimey. That's a lot of walking. It's safe to say that Londoners don't do this. Not unless they're too skint to get the train. "No, I love the underground. It's so fast. It's fun too." Kelly obviously hasn't been on the tube in rush hour, when the train breaks down.
She's had a pretty wide view of the city. She's discovered Pret. Which we discovered a while ago that Londoners secretly quite like. She also managed to find one of London's best shops: Joy. "The clothes in there are fantastic, I need to go back soon." She's just discovered one of our best shopping secrets in London by accident. We're impressed.
"My favourite part so far has to be Big Ben. I'm in love with the buildings in England, they've got so much atmosphere. I really like Oxford Street." It's not often you hear people say that.
So is everything good in the city? Well aside from a couple of rude and grumpy people, Kelly is having a great time. She had her first East End curry last night too. Considering how jet-lagged she is, she's kept pretty busy. First impressions of our fair city seem pretty good. We've done well.
Maybe we should go and see Big Ben. It's been a while since we've done any touristy things in London. It's just warm enough to get on one of those open top buses. Maybe even buy a silly hat with a flag on it...

That's the mother of all non sequiturs
