Ladies what lunch.
We're Hungary.
We finally braved the rain to go and search for some food. We've discovered to things on our trip out in the cold:
1. The sea smells amazing when it's been raining.
2. We don't eat Hungarian food enough.
3. Brighton is a lot cheaper than London.
Now, this last point may not come as a surpise, but we were shocked at how little Hungarian food there is in London. It's all about tapas or Italian or even Mexican. So, where are all those Hungarian places back in the city? We've just eaten the most amazing goulash and feel all warm and cosy. We'd like more of the same when we get back.
The Gay Hussar: Probably the best known Hungarian joint in town. (By this we mean we've actually heard of it.) But oh dear, it's not getting very good reviews.
This search might be harder than we thought. When we started this post, we wanted to tell you about other little Hungarian places that did good food and were new and exciting. But the fact is, we can't find any. Are we going to have to resort to 'goulash soup' from Eat? Really?
Yes, we know there are many Polish places and Russian and all kinds of other European foodstuffs we could eat. But the nicest bowl of goulash ever was only three pounds and we're a bit addicted now. We might go back and have another bowl.
This is the kind of thing that might make us stay in Brighton. You wouldn't want that now, would you?
Help us. Please help us find more Hungarian places in London. We'll be extra nice to you.
