Tonight, tonight: Bradley's Spanish Bar
We do like that Glitterditch HQ is very mobile. We're currently writing to you from our local whilst having a drink. Which makes us very happy indeed.
It's got us in the mood to go out again tonight. This evening we're off the Bradley's Spanish Bar to meet up with Buttoned Down Disco DJ Dollyrocker.
Aside from the cool pictures everywhere and the fact that it's red and yellow, there isn't a huge amount about this place that is Spanish. But that doesn't mean it's rubbish. On the contrary, it's one of our favourite little bars in London.
The staff are fantastic. They laugh with you about nothing in particular and they dance about while making you drinks. If you've had a long day, they'll cheer you up instead of being annoying. But they all have mullets. All of them. We don't know why. It's only forgivable because we like it in here so much.
We like the fact that it looks like someone's living room. And the juke box is fantastic. One minute you're listening to Prince, the next it's some old blues stuff you've never heard before. And it's tiny enough to end up chatting to random people. Which is always good fun as they're often a little bit drunk and sometimes a litle bit crazy. The best way to be, we think.
This places feels like a local bar. It's just smack bang next to Centre Point for some reason. Don't hold that against them. Go and drink Bloody Mary's instead.
Bradley's Spanish Bar is on Hanway Street just of Oxford Street (Tottenham Court Road end). Don't try and stand by the road. Your toes will get run over by balck cabs.
