A thought for the afternoon.

Say What?

Whilst we were out just now doing a bit of shopping, we overheard a conversation between two young somethings chatting about music. The line we over heard (ok, listened to) that most stuck in our minds was 'I saw them live last year.'

Now we have no idea what band they were talking about but we all know that 'I saw them live last year' means 'I've seen this band live so therefore I'm infinitely cooler than you'. Fact.

This made us giggle as we walked back to Glitterditch HQ in the rain. And it got us thinking about what other things really mean.

  • 'We can't accomodate anymore people due to fire restrictions.' actually means 'You're really not cool enough to get an invite.'
  • 'We be in touch.' Often means 'I'm just a pen pusher and have no power to make any decision.'
  • 'I can't find your name on the list.' usually translates as 'You're prettier than me and my boyfriend is inside. You're not getting anywhere near him.'
  • 'Don't worry, you look fine.' If this is said to you in the ladies and you can't focus on your own reflection you can bet one thing. You don't look fine.

It's all true. Try and deny it...
