Glitterditch Approves
Our Secret Tea Sipping Spot
Contrary to popular belief, we don't drink all the time. Sometimes Glitterbitch and her entourage are hungover. This is when we go and drink tea.
Tea has to be done properly, Otherwise you might as well be drinking dishwater in McDonald's. So Ladies and Gents, we bring you to The Samuel Pepys.
So, we don't come here just for tea. We come here for the view. Which you can only see if you pop in around three in the afternoon. Otherwise it's full of those city boys getting drunk at lunchtime. And then those city girls getting drunk after work. But in that little afternoon window it's perfect.
You can get a cup of your favourite tea and curl up on the sofa with a book. And you have just an hour to watch the boats bobbing down the river. It's hard to believe all the evilness that is The City is just over the road.
If it's any other time of the day, we wouldn't think about coming here, but for an hour each day it's a little dreamy place that feels like it's not even in London. Which once in a while is not a bad thing. (Only very rarely though.)
Darn maybe we shouldn't have shared it with you after all.
The Samuel Pepys is on Stew Lane (off Upper Thames Street). It's near Mansion House and we're only telling you about it because it's really hard to find.
