When The Good Go Bad
Switched off
Despite Jaci Stephen saying that TV was "the most important medium in the arts", no one is watching it anymore. All the terrestrial channels are showing reduced viewing figures this year. Channel Four being the worst - 11% less than last year.
Not wanting to jump to conclusions, Glitterditch has had a proper think about why this is...
- I'm a Celebrity... is frankly rubbish and we're not falling for it anymore.
- We are sick of How Clean is your House?, House Doctor and any of those selling/ cleaning/ auctioning/ buying houses shows.
- Jerry Springer isn't on the telly anymore.
- Yet Jeremy Kyle still is. Telling people how ashamed of themselves they should be. Charming.
- The BBC still think people watch Blue Peter.
Or, is it possible that you're all just out getting drunk at parties like us? Yep. Thought as much.

Actually, The Jerry Springer Show is still on Living and he hosts Nothing But The Truth on SkyOne.
Hurray! TV is saved!!
Well, Channel 4 is sooooo dependent on Big Brother traffic (wasn't it a quarter of ad revenue or something insane), and the gloss has been coming off that for years.
Channel Four has been relying on Big Brother for so long now it's forgotten how to make anything else.
Producers seem to think that viewers don't notice when they fill the rest of the year with Gordon Ramsay repeats.
Is there any gloss left on BB at all? No... just racism and boredom.
There's nothing wrong with BB that going back to the original formula and not trying to be so cute couldn't fix.
The beauty is, and was, watching disparate people try to live together. Get the producers to stop picking unstable attention seekers and maybe it might be interesting again.
